| So, I started a CELTA course this week (English language teacher training) and it's tough! It's fun...but it's all grammar and anyone who was schooled c/o the English education system will know that you don't learn grammar, so this week has been an education! However, my fellow classmates are great, the teacher is fab and hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll acquire my "passport to the world" and be ready to inflict my teaching abilities (or lack thereof) on international students - hoorah!
Other than that, it's sunny, I'm loving it and it's almost the weekend. To quote Ron Kenoly "God is good all the time and all the time, God is good!"
And on another point..is Facebook taking over the world or wot?!
| We have a ...
...and an ex-
...staying with us and it has MADE MY WEEK!! Needless to say they are finding the motherland a tad chilly but radiators and socks have become their new best friends!! Aah, don'tcha just love catching up with old friends?!
| The joys of living north of the Downs for a week... | | |
| More like moody B&B in Oxford...and it is here that I currently reside, checking my emails and watching the BBC 6 O'clock News (the travelling life ain't all it's cracked up to be). Roll on Friday night when I will return to my home by the sea and into the arms of my husband. Aaaahh... So, sickness has passed, as has Christmas and the New Year (is anyone else finding themselves exclaiming "Gosh! Can you believe it's almost February already?") and now we find ourselves in the year of the baby... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......NOT MINE!! But seriously, hands up if you don't know at least one person that is pregnant at the moment... ... ... See! Just like I said - the year of the baby! But for those of us who won't be contributing to global over-population this year, I wonder what 2007 will bring for us...?? But onto more pressing matters. What am I going to have for dinner tonight? | | |
| Gosh, it's Christmas next week. And as if the distastefully decorated trees, manic shoppers alla Churchill Square and Bing Crosby's crooning melodies over the cashmere sweaters in GAP weren't enough evidence of the fact, then getting sick certainly is! A holiday is on the horizon and ones body says 'Cool - let's get sick!' What is with that? I spent most of last week nursing a headache disguised as a migraine and then last night my glands came up and I spent all night snotting & spluttering and having extremly lucid & freaky dreams about 'Lost' - niiice! Besides that, all is well in life and marriage - though the latter is proving to provide logistical nightmares at this time of the year (I think we'll be breaking the world record for amount of counties covered in a four-day period). If I wasn't such a family-bod then I'd have no hesitation in booking a cottage in a remote part of England with a roaring fire and no phoneline next year, however the Auntie in me just can't bear to miss the annual turkey-a-thon with my ever-increasing family!! Reckon this'll be my last entry of 2006 so 'appy crimbo one & all and may Santa make all your dreams come true! | | |
